Recipe: "Green Tea Ice Cream" from "The Perfect Scoop" by David Lebovitz
Status: Made twice. The first time, we made this we tried to buy matcha from Whole Foods. All they had was a matcha mix which was more than half sugar, so that batch of green tea ice cream came out nearly flavorless. This time we bought matcha from a Japanese grocery store and this recipe turned out great! When you buy matcha, check the ingredients to make sure it is 100% green tea powder.
This makes a very creamy and rich green tea ice cream. I like this because I think the creaminess and richness goes well with the green tea, though William thinks it is more creamy that green tea ice cream normally is and he finds it too creamy.
William was nice and he made me green tea ice cream!
